I’m glad you liked it! I really enjoyed watching this scene that afternoon; the family of jackdaws were collecting hair from the cows as nesting material! I’ve read versions of this behaviour, which say that cows don’t get any benefit from it, but they aren’t affected either. Other versions assert that say they do benefit since the jackdaws help them get rid of parasites. So I’m unsure, but it was wonderful to see them all together, living in harmony. 😉
How peacefully tolerant the cow, how beedily vigilant the jackdaw … it’s a delightful picture!
